Meeting With Farm Bureau

Written by emallers on March 26th, 2017

Last week, I was visited at the Statehouse by a group of constituents representing Indiana Farm Bureau of Johnson County.

Agriculture is a major factor in our state’s economy and has an undeniable impact on all Hoosier citizens. Indiana Farm Bureau is an advocate for both agriculture education and the needs of rural communities.

The group and I discussed current bills that are moving thorough the legislative process, one of them being House Bill 1002. This legislation contains the House Republican’s long-term road funding plan that was recently passed by the House of Representatives. Indiana Farm Bureau is one of the many supporters of this bill and the actions it would take to maintain the roadways Hoosier farmers depend upon.

It was great to spend time with the Farm Bureau representatives and listen to their ideas and answer their questions. As always, I hope you take the opportunity to visit me at the Statehouse as well. Meeting with constituents and hearing your thoughts, opinions and questions about our state government is one of the greatest parts of my job. It also helps me better represent you and our community when I vote on legislation.

If you have any questions or would like to set up a time to meet with me, please contact my office at 317-232-9648 or h58@iga.in.gov.

Sincerely,

State Rep. Woody Burton
